Animal Contact Advice

All animals carry a number of infections that can be harmful to humans. This includes E.coli 0157 which can cause severe illness.

Our Farm allows you to contact, touch and feed a variety of animals. We want your visit to be fun and safe so please:

DO...

  • Supervise children to ensure they don’t put fingers or dropped dummies/comforters in their mouth.

  • Wash hands thoroughly before eating and on leaving the Farm Park

  • Eat in the designated picnic area only after you have washed your hands.

Do Not...

  • Eat, drink or smoke while walking round the Farm and touching animals.

  • Let children kiss the animals or put their faces too close.

  • Use hand sanitiser as a substitute for handwash

  • Do not touch the soles of your shoes

IMPORTANT PREGNANCY ADVICE

PLEASE DO NOT GO NEAR THE LAMBS & BABY GOATS OR TOUCH THE FENCES IF YOU ARE PREGNANT OR THINK YOU MAY BE.

Please wash your hands with soap and water after coming in to contact with animals or fences.

(SANITISER IS NO SUBSTITUTE)

Women who are or may be pregnant are potentially at risk of contracting certain infectious diseases (Toxoplasmosis, Chlamydphila abortus, Listeria) from pregnant livestock including sheep and goats.
